About MsElouise

MsElouise is a community programs worker and feminist from Melbourne Australia. She likes to travel, write, rant and make people feel uncomfortable about their assumptions. She hopes to one day be remembered for changing the world just a little bit. Right now she does this by proving that teenage girls are a higher order of beings.

  1. Happy International Women’s day to one of my favourite blogs. I have been having a rant today about Cottee’s cordials, which have labelled all their cordials with a “boys vs girls”, theme, and with flavours being designated boy or girl in turn. So according to them my four year old is drinking a girls flavour. The only upside is that he can’t read yet and wouldn’t care anyway. But what kind of message is that sending to bigger kids, and why the need to pit any child against another for any reason, let alone gender? It’s like something from the 1950’s. Seems like we still need ranty feminists here in our country 😉
    p.s. if you’re interested I have uploaded a pic to twitter, @ana74x

    • Thanks Ana,
I did see the cottee’s bottles the other day when I was at the stupormarket. Such a shame that this stuff is still deemed acceptable.
Would love your thoughts in an article?! ALways happy to accept contributions from readers about the things they find frustrating in their everyday lives.

      Happy International Women’s Day!

      • Thanks Eloise. I was thinking about writing about it, wondered if it would seem silly. I will get on it and get back to you.
        Cheers! Ana.

      • Not even remotely silly, unless you’re referring to the fact that we still accept such antagonistic language in our media and advertising!
