  1. I am not a feminist in fact I am not even a female. But I believe in gender equality. I am at a lost at the deafening silence from feminist groups on Islamic treatment of women. I can only assume that your group approves of the treatment. FGM, half the worth of a man, stoned for being raped, stoned for being gay or honour killings. There have been over 200 honour killings in Pakistan this year (and the year is just 100 days old). Two that really stood out was the girl who was bashed to death for talking to an unrelated male and the woman who was stoned for being gay. Domestic violence is condoned in the Koran, and there is no such thing as marital rape. I am posting this and your reply on face book.

    • Hi Sydney,

If you care to have a look at all of our contributions over the last few years I think you’ll find that we cover a lot of the concerns you have raised. Although we are never going to demand that our opinions are always right and true, they’re just opinions that we care to share online.
