Barcelona defender Junior Firpo linked with Napoli

Defender Junior Firpo is set to leave FC Barcelona this summer with Serie A giants Napoli set to welcome the player.

The left-back is not in manager Ronald Koeman’s plans and according to Sports Diariothe club are looking for a replacement as well as a suitor who can meet Barcelona’s wishes.

Reports indicate that Napoli are ready to accept the player on a first loan deal and will turn this transfer into a permanent deal if he manages to impress in his debut season.

However, Barcelona aren’t interested in such a deal as they want the cash to boost their transfer kitty with a major overhaul set to take place next summer; the defender’s market price set at 20 million euros.

Apart from NaplesSeveral Premier League clubs are believed to be interested in the player but the Italians remain favorites to land his signature after trying to land him last summer.

Born in the Dominican Republic, Junior joined Barcelona from Betis in the summer of 2019 and has represented Spain at junior level.
