Eritrea: Outstanding Student Award
Mai-Nefhi College of Science awarded an award to 278 outstanding students who achieved a higher GPA in the 2021/2022 academic year.
At the awards ceremony held on April 20, Professor Gebray Asgedom, Dean of the College, said the winning students came from the departments of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Earth Sciences. who had scored 3.25 GPA and above.
Stating that 36.5% of first-year student winners were female and 52% second-, third- and fourth-year students, Professor Gebray said the outstanding results of female students attested to their growing competitiveness.
Expressing their appreciation for the opportunity given to them, the scholarship students said the award will go a long way in motivating them to achieve better results in education.
Likewise, the “Fiema” award was given to 16 outstanding students who achieved higher marks in the eighth-grade national examinations in the Segeneity sub-area.
During the ceremony held on April 17, the Head of Sub-Zone Education Office, Mr. Tesfa’alem Abraha congratulated the outstanding students for receiving the award and called on other students to follow their example. and become competitive in their education.
Stating that developing the comprehensive capacity of the youth is one of the main missions of the National Union of Eritrean Youth and Students, Mr. Yohannes Gebremeskel, Director General of the Sub-Zone, expressed the hope that the award will have a positive influence on his colleagues. students to work hard in their education.
