Lemma said that after his deputies were told McLean was in Sanford, investigators dealing with fugitive apprehensions began to monitor and spotted McLean with another man.

Another of our sheriff’s office vehicles came to help. It was the vehicle that slowly slid into the tree and it crashed next to the tree, ”Lemma said.
Records show that the two men first fled, but the second man quickly lay down on the ground to surrender. He is not believed to be linked to the murder at this time and is not currently facing criminal charges, although he is under questioning.
