Houston kick-off, Slingshot’s Women driving This initiative will welcome women and aspiring pilots for a full day of driving. The full-day event will focus on bringing women together and taking them on the road behind the wheel of a Slingshot. Guests will have the opportunity to demonstrate the Slingshot 2021 range, ask questions during the product showcase, and meet female Slingshot owners. For those looking to test out a manual transmission or Slingshot’s new paddle shifters, pro racer Loni Unser will be on hand to offer special advice. Following the Houston IFRD event on May 1, Slingshot’s Women driving The program will be activated once a quarter in different cities across the country.

“We proudly celebrate the female community in the riding. As more and more women turn to powersports as a recreational hobby, we want to empower these budding riders and welcome them into the Slingshot community, ”said Collett Mazula, Senior Director of Marketing at Polaris Slingshot. “Over the past few years, we have seen a steady increase in the number of women buying and operating slingshots. Women have always driven, but the days when the perception is that they are just passengers are gone. Now the driver’s seat calls out her name, as she crisscrosses scenic roads, turns heads downtown, and customizes it to her style.

With its open-air cockpit and side-by-side sport bucket seats, the three-wheeled Slingshot was widely accepted by women across the country. In fact, comparing 2019 to 2020, Slingshot saw a 43% increase in the number of female customers. The introduction of Slingshot’s first automatic-type offering, the new AutoDrive transmission, contributed to this increase. Without a clutch pedal or shift lever, drivers can operate a Slingshot like any automatic vehicle.

With a growing community of motorcyclists, Polaris is proud to support International Women’s Cycling Day. Founded by Vicki Gray of MOTORESS.com, the day is a call to action for women at “Just Ride!” motorcycles. And with the support of companies like Polaris, IFRD has become a celebration of motorsport motorcyclists no matter what they ride. From two- and three-wheeler motorcycles to ATVs, UTVs, side-to-side and more, the IFRD recognizes and encourages women to get out there and “Just Ride!” .

Sling Women driving The event in Houston will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CT at Mancuso Powersports Gulf Freeway Team.
